The World of Raproot

A whole world that runs on your child's stories.

The World of Raproot is falling quiet, and only new stories can wake its music. Your child journeys through five regions with Spark beside them — planning, writing, and illustrating one chapter of their own adventure in each.

Map of the World of Raproot showing five regions: Rootsong Village, The Drumwood, The Dimming Peak, Riverglow Falls, and The Great Root Tree
  • Rootsong Village
Where every story begins — your child creates their hero and sets off.
  • The Drumwood
The adventure builds — word games and grammar quests echo between the trees.
  • The Dimming Peak
The most exciting moment of the story — the climb to the climax.
  • Riverglow Falls
Where problems find their answers and stories find their turn.
  • The Great Root Tree
Every finished story is heard here — read aloud and turned into a picture book.

Every quest is real writing practice — planned, written, and celebrated with Spark's feedback.

Meet the cast

Three companions, one for each part of the adventure.

Raproot keeps its cast small on purpose, so your child always knows who they are writing with — and why. Spark coaches every step of the way.

Inkly the Ink Cloud
Before writing
Inkly

The thoughtful one. Inkly floats in when it is time to slow down and plan — full of questions that make ideas rain.

Cypher the Composer
On the adventure
Cypher

Leader of the Rhythm Keepers, the guardians of this world. Cypher greets every new hero in Rootsong Village and sets the quest going.

Scribble the Magic Pencil
After the last full stop
Scribble

The artist. Scribble turns your child's finished stories into illustrated comics and picture books they can keep.

How it works

Three steps from blank page to better writing.

1

Choose a topic and plan

Your child picks a writing topic and fills in a quick story plan — characters, problem, exciting moment, ending. Spark helps them think before they write.

Builds planning habits from the start
2

Write at their own pace

Your child writes their piece. They can ask Spark for a hint if they get stuck — without getting the answer handed to them.

Guided, not spoon-fed
3

Get personalised feedback

Spark identifies one genuine strength and specific things to improve — with their own sentence quoted and a better version shown. Not generic. Not overwhelming.

Calibrated to your child's age and level

Features

Everything a child needs to get better at writing.

Craft Goals

Each session your child picks one writing technique to practise — like "show don't tell" — and sees a weak and a strong example built around their exact topic.

Smart Hints (Not Answers)

If they're stuck, Spark gives a nudge — not the answer. This preserves the thinking, which is where learning actually happens.

Personalised Feedback

Feedback is specific to what your child actually wrote. Spark quotes their own sentences and explains how to make them stronger.

Story Structure Check

Spark maps your child's story onto a story mountain — opening, build-up, climax, resolution, and ending — and shows exactly which part to grow next.

Grammar & Spelling Highlights

Errors are highlighted by type — grammar, spelling, punctuation, tense, and more — right in their own piece, so your child sees exactly what to fix and why.

Handwriting Upload

Photograph a handwritten piece — including school compositions — and Spark reads, transcribes, and gives feedback on it. No retyping required.

Quests, Games & Oots

Word games and grammar quests unlock region by region, and every story earns Oots, streaks, and badges — vocabulary practice that feels like play, and small wins that bring young writers back tomorrow.

Who it's for

Built for families. Ready for classrooms.

For parents

See your child's writing actually improve.

  • A parent dashboard with a weekly "This week with Spark" summary — stories written, skills practised, and a real sentence Spark praised.
  • A writing skills snapshot per child, so you know what's on track and what's growing.
  • One account for the whole family — each child gets their own profile, level, and history.
  • Simple PIN logins for children. No child email addresses, ever.
For teachers

Feedback on every composition, not just the ones you have time to mark.

  • Pupils photograph and upload handwritten class work for instant, personalised feedback.
  • Coaching is Socratic — Spark asks guiding questions and never writes for the pupil.
  • Feedback is calibrated to each writer's level, from early writers to confident ones (Grade 1 to 6).
  • We're inviting a small number of schools and tuition centres to pilot Raproot with a class.

What families say

Real feedback from real families.

★★★★★

"My daughter actually asked to use it again the next day. That has never happened with any writing app before. The feedback is so specific — it quoted her exact sentence back to her."

"I was sceptical about AI for kids, but this is different. It never writes for him — it makes him think harder. His Year 5 teacher asked what we had changed at home, because his stories suddenly had proper structure."

★★★★★

"My third grader went from one-sentence answers to full-page stories. Spark asks him questions instead of fixing things for him — and somewhere along the way, he started asking those questions himself before he writes."

"We wanted more English writing practice outside school, and this fits perfectly. Spark's questions push my daughter to explain her ideas fully instead of rushing to finish. Her compositions have so much more detail now."

"The planning step made the biggest difference for my son. He used to dive straight in with no idea where the story was going. Now he maps out his characters and ending first — and his pieces are actually complete stories."

"Spark is so encouraging — even when my daughter makes mistakes, it finds something genuine to praise first. She used to cry over writing homework. Now she finishes her pieces and actually feels proud of them."

Common questions

We thought you might ask.

Is this doing the writing for my child? +
No — and this is by design. Spark gives hints, not answers. After your child writes and submits, Spark gives feedback on what they wrote. The writing is always theirs. The same philosophy applies to story planning — Spark prompts, but the ideas come from the child.
What ages is Raproot designed for? +
Raproot is built for children aged 6 and up. Feedback and prompts are calibrated separately for younger and older children, so a 7-year-old and a 12-year-old both get guidance that matches where they are.
What happens after the free trial? +
You add a payment method when you start, but nothing is charged during the trial. After 7 days, your subscription begins automatically. We send a reminder email on day 5 so you're never surprised. You can cancel any time before day 8 and you won't be charged.
Can I use one account for multiple children? +
Yes. One parent account can hold multiple children, each with their own profile, grade, and writing history. Each child has a separate subscription, so the feedback stays calibrated to the right age and level — two children in the same family can have quite different needs as writers.
